Nordic walking breaks at the Elan Valley Lodge

Whether you would like a social weekend as a rambling club learning something different or as an established Nordic walking group wanting to enjoy days out in the beautiful countryside, or whether you would like to improve and practice your technique in stunning surroundings, Nordic walking Cymru provides guided walks or sessions with a fully qualified Nordic British and International Nordic walking instructor.

For the last 20 years the Lodge has proven to be an extremely popular venue for Rambling and Walking Clubs. We invite your party of 10 or more to enjoy two spectacular days Nordic walking in the Elan Valley with our qualified and experienced local instructor or guide.

The 73 square miles of the Elan Estate is a little known area of stunning beauty and outstanding scenery, one of the few remaining unspoilt areas of Britain. With conservation having been a priority since the construction of the spectacular Elan Valley dams at the turn of the century, it has become a haven for a wide variety of wildlife and it is often possible to spot Red Kite, a beautiful bird of prey now only found in the uplands of Mid Wales and Scotland. Elan Valley is often referred to as 'The Lakeland of Wales' it offers superb scope for Walkers and Ramblers of all abilities and you can be assured of a spectacular weekend away from the crowds.

All routes will be specially planned to suit the needs and requirements of your party, and a warm welcome, with afternoon tea and homemade cakes, will await your return to the Lodge at the end of your day.

£134.50 per person (2009) - based on groups of 10 or more people

Your weekend includes:

  • Services of a local instructor or guide.
  • Loan of Nordic Walking poles if required.
  • Friday and Saturday night accommodation in en-suite bedrooms.
  • Full cooked breakfast and packed lunches on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Three course evening meal Friday and Saturday with a choice of menu.
  • Afternoon tea Friday and Saturday.
